The 2009 Variety Toy Appeal is your invitation to unite with us to make Christmas a magical and special occasion for children in need.

Variety, the Children’s Charity annually supports thousands of children (aged up to 18) by facilitating the purchase of essential mobility, communication and educational equipment – including wheelchairs, Sunshine Coaches and Liberty Swings - for individual children, schools, community groups, children’s hospitals, and other support organisations.  In 2008, we nationally approved appeals totalling almost $4 million.

This Christmas, we’re hoping to reach even more children than last year through the Variety Toy Appeal, and we can only achieve this goal with your support.  All toys purchased via this website will be sent to the following worthwhile organisations:

- SHINE For Kids

- Jesse’s Voice

SHINE For Kids is an organisation supporting children with a parent in the criminal justice system. Current estimates are that there are 14,500 children affected by their parents' imprisonment in NSW in any one year. These children are hidden in the community and can feel very isolated and stigmatised.

SHINE for Kids assists and supports children of prisoners to develop coping mechanisms and provides opportunities for these children to support each other.  It enables the children to overcome social and educational barriers and realise their individual potential.

Jesse's Voice Limited is named after Jesse Cabrita. Jesse passed away from SIDS at only 3 months old.  He lived a full life – full of happiness, joy, love and support.

Although Jesse only lived for a short 3 months, his life was not cut short.  He fulfilled his purpose; showing love, and leaving a legacy known as “Jesse’s Voice”.

Jesse's Voice offers support to the Central Coast's more disadvantaged groups.  This Christmas, Jesse’s Voice is preparing to deliver hundreds of gifts to children and young adults with disabilities.
